Highly motivated Mining Engineer with 20 years’ experience across various commodities as well as different disciplines within the mining industry.
My experience range from Life of Mine planning and optimisation, Business development, Technical discipline integration, Mining value chain optimisation, Stay in Business (SIB) projects, Environmental management, Project financial modelling, Project and Business Risk Management, Stakeholder integration and management.
My diverse experience in the mining environment have given me knowledge of and insight into the entire mining value chain with a deep understanding of discipline / technical integration that is required to develop and or optimise a mining assets. My specific knowledge of resource to reserve conversion, metallurgical algorithms development and the optimisation of mine plans to extract maximum value through optimal product offering is one of my key interests and strongest attributes

Evaluate all known deposits in the Northern Cape and developed a Resource Development Plan with the aim to sustain the Northern Cape operations.
Apply a systematic process to evaluate key target areas and calculate the potential NPV per target.
Develop a selection criteria and priorities these targets based on the selected criteria.
Identify the most prospective target areas that should be pursued as part of Kumba expansion program. Obtain EXCO approval.
Investigated alternative resources around Thabazimbi that could be pursued to sustain Thabazimbi operations.
Develop the Sishen Low grade project targeting alternative processing technology through finer liberation.
Determine the optimal processing feed strategy for Kumba that would increase resource utilisation and optimise value based on different product offering and market conditions.
Manage a team of metallurgist to develop a better set of Algorithms that capture the resource characteristics and variance based on not only different processes, but different cut densities.
Manage multi-disciplinary teams in all of the above work streams.
